The Montrose team offers a wide range of services for ethanol compliance, permitting and consulting to biogas digester projects, wastewater consulting, and emission testing services. With locations conveniently located in the Midwest and throughout the U.S., we provide an integrated service offering for the unique requirements of ethanol producers.
Testing services include source testing, laboratory analysis, LDAR, ambient air monitoring and fan efficiency studies. Our source testing teams specialize in performing compliance and engineering testing on fermentation scrubbers, thermal and regenerative oxidizers, boilers, loading flares and grain handling baghouses. We’ve developed ethanol-specific methods for on-site analysis of common target analytes using FTIR spectroscopy and gas chromatography. These techniques have been optimized to achieve both ppm and ppb detection limits for VOC and HAP emissions from fermentation scrubber and oxidizer stacks and other sources commonly found in the production of ethanol. Other sampling parameters include PM, PM10, PM2.5, SO2, NOx, and CO. We have successfully completed hundreds of test programs at over 70 ethanol plants in the US since 2005.
The Montrose Regulatory Compliance team helps our ethanol production clients achieve and maintain regulatory compliance with federal, state and local regulations. Our team consists of specialists with decades of experience—so we can tackle the most challenging projects and deliver successful outcomes.
Montrose biogas solution experts also assist with co-located anaerobic digesters used to recover biogas from soluble residues inherent in the ethanol production compliance process, including dried distilled grain syrup.
In addition to the skilled teams listed above, our soil and groundwater remediation, planning and ecosystem consulting, and water treatment teams routinely solve the most complex problems related to designing, building, and operating ethanol manufacturing facilities.
