Heather Patti
With over two decades of experience, Heather is a highly skilled expert in the fields of botany, ecology, and renewable energy project and portfolio support. Specializing in the renewable energy sector, Heather manages multidisciplinary project teams, provides expert witness testimony, NEPA support, leads wetland delineation and permitting, rare species surveys, and ecological restoration. She has made significant contributions in her current role as a Senior Associate at Montrose. Throughout her career, Heather’s work has been pivotal in protecting and preserving natural habitats while meeting the goals of a project. Heather holds a Master of Science (MS) degree in Botany and Ecology from North Carolina State University and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biology and Chemistry from the University of North Carolina Wilmington.

Delanie Player
Delanie, boasting over 22 years of experience in wildlife-related projects, has been instrumental in leading numerous environmental initiatives within the renewable energy sector. Throughout her tenure at Matrix Solutions Inc., where she has held various roles including Team Coordinator, Wildlife Technical Lead, and Power Market Sector Lead, Delanie has made significant contributions to projects like the Travers Solar Project, supporting the entire project life cycle from land selection to post-construction monitoring. She has also provided expert testimony at regulatory hearings and developed guidance documents for wildlife management, including plans for migratory birds, pileated woodpeckers, and bats. Additionally, Delanie has spearheaded large-scale wildlife monitoring programs, including remote camera and acoustic surveys, aimed at understanding and mitigating the impacts of development on wildlife distribution and habitat. Her expertise extends to supporting biodiversity and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives outlined by various clients.

Ethan brings over 25 years of expertise in energy project management and regulatory compliance to the table. His extensive experience spans federal, state, and local regulatory permitting and compliance across various industries throughout North America, including Utilities, Renewables, Oil and Gas, Mining, Pipelines, Transportation, Redevelopment, and Telecommunications. With a keen understanding of complex regulatory frameworks like NEPA and NPDES, Ethan has proven instrumental in guiding projects through intricate compliance processes, ensuring adherence to environmental standards and legal requirements.
In addition to his regulatory acumen, Ethan possesses a strong technical background in the evaluation of energy projects, hydrologic modeling, water sampling, and GIS analysis. His proficiency extends to crafting Plans of Developments, Master Surface Use Plans, Water Management Plans, Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessments, Environmental Constraints Analyses, Environmental Assessments (EAs), NPDES permitting, and baseline data investigations for Environmental Impact Statements (EIS). Ethan’s collaborative approach and ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including federal agencies like the BLM, USFS, EPA, FEMA, USFWS, and the DOE, underscore his commitment to driving innovation and sustainable practices in every project he undertakes.
