Steve Koenigsberg, PhD

Dr. Koenigsberg, with over three decades of environmental industry experience, is a renowned leader in remediation and environmental biotechnology. His achievements include a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Association for Environmental Health & Sciences (AEHS) and recognition with a Wall Street Journal Technology Development Award. Additionally, he has served as an Adjunct Professor and Dean’s Advisory Council member at California State University, Fullerton, for 18 years. Below are areas of Steve’s PFAS expertise.

PFAS Pioneer: With over a decade of involvement in PFAS issues, he co-founded the PFAS Experts Group in 2018, assembling 70 top experts for critical debates and peer-reviewed publications. He played a pivotal role in developing the ARC process, successfully tested with Honeywell for PFAS management at a prominent New York site.

Prolific Author and Presenter: He has authored and co-authored 175+ technical articles, presentation abstracts, four books, and holds four international patents in remediation and environmental biotechnology. Dr. Koenigsberg co-produced PFAS Experts Symposiums in 2019 and 2021, fostering consensus-driven policy development, with results published in the Remediation Journal.
