Renewable Energy Project Process

Our Services

We have supported numerous site portfolios, ranging from 3 to 20 sites, at various stages of development. Our multi-disciplinary team is committed to maintaining your project schedules and will promptly alert you to any issues. We understand what it takes to move beyond early site due diligence and engineering to achieve a Notice to Proceed.

We hold professional engineer licenses in over 47 states. Our talented design team will work with you to meet your energy targets while keeping the project budget, site access, topography, property setbacks, and local zoning restrictions top of mind.

Good relationships with local neighbors and a positive public perception are critical to every project. From public open houses to expert witness testimony, our team understands that general acceptance of renewable energy projects can still be a challenge. We will support you at local hearings and help get your project approved.

No matter your site location, we have experienced, trained wetland and waterway delineators who will provide high-quality boundary data and technical insight on Army Corps district-level, state-level, and local-level regulations.

We leverage our well-rounded team of plant, avian, and mammal experts to provide habitat assessments, species-specific surveys, and consultations with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

Our team is well-versed in state stormwater requirements. We understand the importance of designing the most effective stormwater Best Management Practices and have trained technical staff ready to conduct post-storm event site visits after construction.

We develop strategies to finance projects and eliminate funding gaps by leveraging a variety of grants, loans, and incentives to support brownfield projects. Additionally, we prepare successful grant applications and provide grant administration support.

Our cultural resources services encompass background and archival research, cultural resource inventories, Section 106 consultation and compliance, archaeological site testing and data recovery, NRHP and local evaluations, and consultation with Native American Tribes. They also include the development of mitigation measures, laboratory processing and artifact analysis, preparation of technical reports, preservation planning, and construction monitoring and training.

We assist in all aspects of the NEPA process, including federal agency consultation and public outreach. Montrose also prepares environmental constraints reports and basic site plans sufficient to the level of detail required for NEPA analysis.
