Montrose Environmental Group Receives 2019 EBJ Business Achievement Award
IRVINE, CA (September 4, 2020) —Environmental Business Journal®* (EBJ), a business research publication which provides high value strategic business intelligence to the environmental industry*, has honored Montrose Environmental Group (Montrose) with an award for Business Achievement in Mergers & Acquisitions in 2019.
“In what is widely regarded as a stable market, a number of companies exceeded the norms of low single-digit growth with double-digit growth or ambitious ventures into new practice areas or technology development,” said Grant Ferrier, president of Environmental Business International Inc. (EBI, Inc.), publisher of Environmental Business Journal.
Montrose was recognized for completing at least five acquisitions in 2019, including Emerging Compounds Treatment Technologies, Inc. (ECT2), an emerging contaminant leader, from its parent company Haley & Aldrich. With successful applications on 1,4-dioxane and per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in water using a proprietary approach that leverages the properties of ion exchange resins to enable analyte removal and on-site regeneration, ECT2 became the PFAS treatment leader in 2017 in Australia, a country leading the way in PFAS remediation. The acquisition is consistent with Montrose’s strategy to bring new, innovative technologies to the market and take on PFAS remediation which the company calls a multi-billion-dollar addressable market. Other Montrose acquisitions in 2019 included: Golden Specialty; Target Emission Services; Air, Water and Soil Laboratories; and LEHDER Environmental Services, one of the largest air quality management companies in Canada.
“Montrose is proud to be recognized as a leader among its peers and looks forward to continuing to execute its organic and M&A growth strategies,” stated Jose Revuelta, Chief Strategy Officer at Montrose.
The 2019 EBJ awards will be presented at a special ceremony at the Environmental Industry Summit XVIII in San Diego, California in September, 2020. The Environmental Industry Summit is an annual three-day executive retreat hosted by EBI, Inc.
