Montrose Environmental Group Enters Exclusive Agreement with Max Analytical Technologies

The exclusive partnership advances innovative approaches to employing Continuous Emissions Monitoring for ethylene oxide emissions measurements and compliance.

IRVINE, Calif. — March 2, 2021 — Montrose Environmental Group, Inc. (the “Company,” “Montrose”) (NYSE: MEG) announced the signing of an exclusive agreement with Max Analytical Technologies (Max Analytical) to distribute the Max Analytical line of Continuous Emission Monitoring (CEM) systems for Ethylene Oxide Detection (EtO).

This partnership combines the strength of Max Analytical’s enhanced FTIR StarBoost™ Technology with Montrose’s compliance, engineering, and source testing experts to provide a turn-key cost-effective solution. This includes quantification of ethylene oxide from sterilizer control devices and ambient measurements from sterilizers and chemical manufacturing facilities to levels required by State and upcoming Federal standards.

Montrose and MAX Analytical have applied for Alternative Test Method acceptance on the Federal level to use these systems for expected Federal emissions and industrial hygiene measurements.

“Thanks to this great partnership with Max Analytical, our industry can now deploy validated and field proven Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems to better protect facility personnel and surrounding communities from fugitive or process ethylene oxide emissions,” said Dr. Peter Zemek, PhD, Senior Vice President of Emerging Technology with Montrose. “These systems are based on advanced and proven technology that has been used in the field of compliance source testing for over three decades. But the innovative improvements to sensitivity and selectivity for ethylene oxide are a big step forward for the future of fugitive and process emissions tracking.”

“Our partnership with Montrose is well positioned to meet the needs of this industry and really move the needle of ethylene oxide emissions tracking,” said John Stack, CEO of Max Analytical. “Montrose and Max Analytical have worked collaboratively, both technically and commercially, to deploy a solution that is not only technically superior in real-world environments but will provided trouble free operation year after year.”
