Offshore Decommissioning Horizon Scan: Research Priorities to Support Decision-Making Activities for Oil and Gas Infrastructure

Background:

Joe Nicolette, Vice President of Ecosystem Service Economics, co-authored a publication on offshore decommissioning in the international journal Science of the Total Environment. This research will help inform policy development and governance frameworks for the industry and stakeholders, providing a clearer path forward for offshore decommissioning. Joe was part of an interdisciplinary team of 35 global experts who identified the top ten priority research needs to further inform decommissioning decisions and advance our understanding of their potential impacts.
